If you need to travel often; whether for business, pleasure or to the occasional spring wedding, you are aware of the difficulties and frustration associated with attempting to pack a suit into a carry-on.
You won't always have time or access to find a local cleaner to press your clothes once you arrive at your destination. That's why learning to correctly pack your suit will save you lots of stress but most importantly, will keep you looking fresh when you arrive at your destination.
The Bundle Method
The bundle method of folding a suit makes the most of the limited packing space in carry-on bags while keeping the suit fresh and mostly wrinkle free. This simple 6 Step method works great and is easy to master.
Step 1. Lay the suit face down on a flat & clean surface. Make sure you aren't folding your suit on any bedding or couches that may transfer fibers to your suit fabric.
Step 2. Fold the left shoulder of the suit back.
Step 3. Turn right shoulder inside out, then tuck the left shoulder into the right shoulder.
Step 4. Fold in half lengthwise and then fold the jacket horizontally.
Step 5. Place trousers outstretched on a flat surface. Place the folded jacket in the center of the outstretched trousers. For added protection place the plastic bag you get from your cleaners or tailor over the pants lengthwise before you place the jacket on the pants.
Step 6. Fold trouser bottoms over jacket and repeat with top of trousers.
